This is a page about the Andean region that gave birth to the Sendero Luminoso. I spent a few days in Huancayo in 1978, when you could take the train from Lima to Huancayo which took 8 hours. I hope one day to return and see all the other Andean towns in the region. With the outbreak of Covid19 the days of returning to Peru seem a long way off.
